For my first blog post on the new Strip Tees website, I wanted to share with everyone a bit of history of who I am and what we're all doing here at Strip Tees. The brand Strip Tees was coined back in 2004 when Chuck and I were youngsters partying the night away in the clubs in OC, LA and Vegas. After long nights at the club we would sit at home or our popular local late night dining spot Pho Hua and throw around corny jokes and sayings always with the end thought of "that would make an awesome t-shirt". I finally registered this domain name
Domain Name: STRIPTEESCO.COM
Created on: 29-Jul-07
3 years passed and no work was put into stripteesco.com, due to our other jobs and priorities in life. Finally after an eventful summer in Bangkok, Thailand in 2010, work was started on putting Strip Tees to life. First came the legal paperwork, LLC's, trademarks, patents and licenses. Next was designing the site! Wow what a huge undertaking. I knew how to put everything together but what I lacked was time. So I decided to bring in some extra help utilizing Shopify's eCommerce system and designers from Debut Designs
. Work was started in November on the site and wrapped up late February 2011.
Chuck and I have always had an ongoing list of ideas that would make great T-Shirts so we started work on drawing and conceptualizing these into reality with the help of our graphic designers. Every single T-Shirt we sell is hand drawn from scratch by Strip Tees' staff. Even if you've seen something somewhere, it's not the same because we drew it here. I was thoroughly surprised while walking through the mall one day and seeing an "I'd Hit That" shirt with a pinata just like ours! I knew instantly that ours looked better than theirs but was happy to know that there were other people out there who think just like we do and would probably buy our version too!
Our shirts are NOT meant to be derogatory or sexist or racist. We just think they're funny and we hope you find them funny as well. We're not here to stir controversy or make the headline news for something bad although I've heard bad publicity is good publicity but that is not what we want to be known for. We hope you share our T-Shirts with your friends, families and enemies so everyone can spread the joy of laughter.
